Today's featured free plugin is Izotope's Ozone Imager. Ozone Imager is a free stereo imaging plugin. Ozone Imager is available for Mac (32-bit and 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, RTAS, AAX) and Windows (32-bit and 64-bit VST, VST3, RTAS, AAX). Ozone Imager will work in all major DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) including Logic Pro 9, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, Nuendo.
Izotope's Ozone Imager takes the stereo widening technology from Izotope's Ozone plugin and packages it into a free plugin. Ozone Imager can be used to widen or narrow the stereo image of your tracks and mixes with two simple controls.
My favourite feature of Ozone Imager is the stunning stereo image meters. The vectorscope and correlation meter are essential meters to have on your stereo bus to keep track of possible mono compatibility issues. In the quest for bigger and wider sounding mixes, we often forget to check for mono compatibility and phase issues. The vectorscope and correlation meter provide clear feedback on the health of your stereo image.
